Quick Bite @ Tacombi (Flatiron)

Tacombi started as a cute little taco shop in Nolita but it has now expanded to four locations throughout New York City. A couple of weeks ago, I had the opportunity to visit Tacombi’s Flatiron location, which is hip, vibrant and fun. Although admittedly not a hip as the Bleeker Street location, the Flatiron location fits perfectly within the neighborhood vibe.

The food at Tacombi is appetizing and while it’s not the most authentic tacos offered in NYC, it’s a fresh and tasty alternative to Dos Caminos and Rosa Mexicana. I started my meal with some chips and guacamole, which I thought was tasty. The chips are thick and salty accompanied with a very smooth guacamole, which honestly was almost too smooth for my liking but nevertheless was tasty and well seasoned. If the Chips were served warm, I think I would have enjoyed my chips and guacamole a little bit more.

I also ordered the Mexican corn, which is fantastic! It’s served in a cup with a spoon, layered with tender corn, delicious chipotle mayo and cotija cheese. This was literally some of the best Mexican corn I’ve had in NYC to date. (I will be back for this)

Hands down,my favorite taco was the Crispy Fish Taco, which was served Baja style with a Beer battered fresh Alaskan cod. If you order nothing else, order this and you won’t be disappointed. I promise.

Overall, Tacombi was a tasty and fun experience. It’s a perfect place for  after work drinks and tacos. I highly recommend that you give it a try!
