The Secret to Gumbo: The Roux

Gumbo is a tradition in my family! When I was growing up, we made Gumbo just about every Super bowl Sunday! You would think that I could have just asked my family how to make Gumbo….. think again!!! Unfortunately, my aunt cooks just like me… she just does it, often without a recipe. So once I moved to New York, I needed real instructions.

After messing up a few batches of Gumbo and countless dollars later, I discovered that real secret to Gumbo is the Roux. Here’s the Recipe I’ve used to start my Seafood Gumbo. I hope this helps you in creating your own Gumbo!
