Table Hopping: The Smith + Asia De Cuba +Cheesecake Factory

1. The Smith

Where: Multiple Locations (East Village, Midtown, Lincoln Square)

Why: I love hanging out at the Smith. This week I visited The Smith for drinks and appetizers at the bar.  A Dirty Martini, their delicious Salmon Tartare and some Mac & Cheese made for a satisfying meal. 2. Asia De Cuba

Where: 420 Lafayette (Noho)

Why: Me and Asia de Cuba met over 7 years ago, when I just a newbie to NYC. It was love at first sight.  I eventually declared that Asia de Cuba was in fact my favorite NYC restaurant. Our bond stayed strong until they closed a couple of years ago. I, of course was devastated. Well, I can now dry my eyes because Asia de Cuba is back! I had the opportunity to visit last week during Summer 2015 Restaurant week; and just as I expected the food is still delicious!  The service was fabulous and the ambiance is romantic, trendy and fun. I highly recommend the Casabe cakes, which was my favorite dish this go around.

(Banana, chayote, cashews, hearts of palm, orange-sesame vinaigrette)

(Snow peas, shiitake mushrooms, creamy congri, maduros, pan jus)

3. The Cheesecake Factory 

Where: Multiple locations (I went to the one in Westbury, New York)

Why: My dining partner and I went to the Cheesecake Factory for one reason, and one reason only; it was National Cheesecake Day! My favorite Cheesecake on the menu happens to be the Pineapple Upside Down Cheese Cake and I was dying for a slice. However, guess what? We ate so much that we didn’t even save room for some cheesecake.

Nevertheless, besides ordering my usual (Salmon with Spinach + a Dirty Martini stuffed with Blue Cheese Olives); we also order these delicious Loaded Baked Potato Tots (pictured below), which I highly recommend during your next visit to the Factory.
