Walk for the Cure: My First Juvenile Diabetes Walk

On October 2nd, 2011. I participated in the Manhattan Walk to Cure Juvenile Diabetes! The walk started in Manhattan, over the Brooklyn Bridge, and then back over the bridge to Manhattan. (exhausting).  I have been a type-1 diabetic since the age of 12; therefore, I personally understand how challenging this disease is for the individual and their families. Can you believe that after all of these years, I have never participated in any type of diabetes walk .. ever? Nevertheless, my Boyfriend and I were able to raise a decent amount of money for the cure. I hope to continue walking in this event in subsequent years in hope of finding a cure!

On another note: This has to be a top NYC moment, walking over the beautiful Brooklyn Bridge!
