Discipline: you either have it or you don’t, and for those who don’t they are either fat or broke. –Ashley Renee
Indeed, I have learned many lessons throughout 2011. This was in fact, a very hard and challenging year; filled with many failures and disappointments. However, I MADE IT!! I leave this year a much stronger and determined person going into 2012. My goals are more clearly defined and I have a better perspective on where my life is headed. Nevertheless, there is one lesson that I learned this year, that sticks out more that any other. This lesson is the value of Discipline.
If I take an honest assessment of my life, I realize that I have not been able to achieve many goals because of my lack of discipline. For a long time, I thought because I worked hard I would achieve most of my goals. However, this year I learned that working hard means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING if you do not work hard in a disciplined manner. Discipline is very critical in just about every aspect of my life. Discipline is the only road to financial freedom, Discipline is the key to losing weight, Discipline is the key to blogging more, and believe it or not, Discipline is the key to spiritual growth and staying connected with God. Therefore, if we are stuck wondering why we are not achieving our goals, or why we are broke and/or fat, we have to question our level of discipline.
“Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments”-(Jim Rohn) I suppose its time to start building my bridge and I hope you will also.
Happy 2012!
