I recently had the opportunity to Table Hop my cute self-over to Stephen Starr’s new restaurant in New York City, named the Clocktower. Here is a quick run-down of the elegant, trendy and chic restaurant that I highly recommend you visit ASAP!
Where: The Clocktower at The New York Edition Hotel, located at 5 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10010
What: Chic new restaurant from British Michelin-starred chef Jason Atherton and acclaimed restaurateur Stephen Starr
Atmosphere: The Clocktower is composed of three intimate dining rooms, a billiards room and a lively bar with a series of vintage black and white photos, each with its own theme. This is a perfect, fancy date spot.
The Food: Here’s what we tried
Milk Punch
Complimentary Bread and Butter
American Cereal Killer (Made with Honey Nut Cheerio Milk)
Scallops (Three large Scallops bowl atop a medley of cauliflower, pickled raisins and a burnt butter sauce, garnished with a few pieces of greens.)
The Uni Risotto (with five pieces of Peekytoe crab)
North African Spiced Lamb Shanks (topped with greens and on two slices of smoked eggplant, with yogurt, cucumber and curried onions.)
The Macaroni and Cheese (with slow-cooked ox cheeks were garnished with large and thinly sliced Parmesan cheese)
Strawberries and Cream
Recommendations: I recommend trying the American Cereal Killer Drink (Made with Honey nut cheerio milk) or the Milk Punch for your drinks. As far as the food, we really enjoyed the Ox cheek Mac & Cheese. The African Spiced Lamb Shanks are also very delicious!
Price: This is definitely a splurge! Me and my dining partner spent well over $200 for a three course meal, with drinks.
