Where: Mr. Chow, 121 Hudson Street, New York, NY 10013
Why: Mr. Chow is one of those New York institutions that you must visit at least once to say they did it. I finally visited Mr. Chow last week during summer 2015 Restaurant week. Mr. Chow is a good option for groups who want to experience restaurant week, because the food at Mr. Chow is served share style, your group will get to try different items on the menu for only $38. One glance at the menu and you will understand how eating at Mr. Chow can get pricey; one drink and the addition of another appetizer (not included in restaurant week) my dining partner and I found ourselves with a $140 bill for two. (Still not bad for Mr. Chow might I add) The décor of the restaurant is stunning, modern and beautiful décor. The Service was also excellent and we really appreciated that our server suggested that we order the Walnut Shrimp, which ended up being one of my favorite dishes off the menu.
The Food: Here’s what we tried:
Water Dumplings Pork
Chicken Satay
Walnut Shrimp
Drunken Fish
Crispy Beef
Shrimp Fried Rice
Vegetable of the Day (Green Beans with Brown Sauce)
Mixed Sorbet
Recommendations: I highly recommend the Walnut Shrimp and the Drunken Fish, both delicious options
The Price: Very Pricey
Who: Good for a romantic date, fancy group dinners
