Snapshot: Dinner @ IchiUmi (Midtown East)

IchiUmi is probably one of the largest All-You-Can-Eat Sushi and Seafood Buffet Restaurant in NYC. The possibilities are endless and I’m sure there’s something to eat for everyone in your dinner party. Of course, IchiUmi serves delicious and fresh sushi, sashimi, sushi rolls but IchiUmi also offers an oyster bar, snow crabs, shrimp, lobsters, Korean BBQ, a tasty Ramen station and a good variety of meat entrees (beef, chicken, and pork).

I visited IchiUmi on a Saturday night and the restaurant was not very busy. However,  it was busy enough that the food was replenished regularly, which is obviously a top concern when visiting any buffet style restaurant.

The sushi and sashimi were meal highlights. Besides the quality and freshness, I appreciated that there were sushi chefs behind the counter, constantly making fresh and creative rolls.

The Snow Crab Legs were definitely another meal highlight. Whatever IchiUmi seasoned them in was simply magnificent. My dining partner and I were guilty of making repeat visits to get more crab legs.

Overall,  the food was well-seasoned and fresh. Our server was attentive, constantly changing our plates, and providing us with fresh water etc. He also had a professional demeanor and appearance, which we appreciated.

Given my experience during this visit, I would probably return.
