Sailor & Siren
Lobster Rolls, Caviar &
a Sunny Day in Greenpoint
There are lobster rolls. And then there are lobster rolls crowned with caviar. Naturally, I had to investigate.
A butter-yellow storefront, a sunny Brooklyn afternoon and two very photogenic orders: this is my kind of lunch date.

Cute Spot.
Serious Lobster Energy.
The yellow storefront is cheerful; the order is a little extravagant. That contrast is the charm. This is lobster-roll luxury without the white-tablecloth production.
I like a place where lunch can feel special without requiring a wardrobe change. Come for the roll, enjoy the neighborhood, and let the fanciest thing about the afternoon be what is sitting on your bun.
Come hungry. Bring the camera.
A Little Maine Story in Brooklyn
Before the yellow storefront, there was a neighborhood pop-up. Greenpoint resident Natalie Borowski introduced Sailor & Siren in 2025, serving lobster rolls at bars around Greenpoint and Williamsburg. The concept had local roots before it had a front door of its own.[1]
In 2026, the business moved toward a permanent home on Manhattan Avenue, in a former hardware-store space at Calyer Street. By July, Brooklyn Magazine was reporting from the newly opened restaurant.[2][3]
The Maine connection is personal, too: Brooklyn Magazine reports that Borowski’s husband’s family runs Douty Bros., the Maine lobster business behind the shop’s supply. That is the part I love. The caviar may be the glamorous extra, but the lobster has a story of its own.[3]
A little Maine. A lot of Brooklyn.
Two Rolls. One Very Clear Favorite.

The Simple Sailor
For the lobster-roll purist: generous pieces of sweet lobster, buttery bread and very little standing between you and the reason you came.
This is the quieter order, but not the less indulgent one. When the lobster is the main attraction, simple makes perfect sense.

The Salty Siren + Caviar
This is the Ash Renee order. Sweet lobster, a buttery bun and glossy pearls of caviar: the salty little pops make the whole thing feel like a celebration.
It is not necessary. It is not restrained. And it is absolutely the one I would choose for a lunch that deserves its own photo album.

Everyone Should Try a Caviar-Topped Lobster Roll at Least Once.
Consider this a tiny invitation to be a little less sensible about lunch. For a lobster lover, the combination is worth experiencing: sweet meat, buttery bread and that distinctly briny finish.
You do not have to become a caviar-on-everything person. Just give yourself one wonderfully over-the-top bite and decide whether lobster rolls should have been dressing up all along.
My vote? Put it on your New York food list. Some afternoons deserve more than another sandwich eaten between errands.
Luxury, with absolutely no dress code.

A Little Lunch.
A Little Brooklyn.
I would make this the delicious middle of a Greenpoint afternoon: lunch, a neighborhood wander and a little time with nowhere urgent to be.
No elaborate itinerary. Just one very good reason to step away from your inbox.

Worth the Splurge.
My favorite kind of luxury is the kind that fits into real life. No grand occasion required. Just a sunny afternoon, a lobster roll and a little caviar on top.
The classic has its place. But for the order that turns lunch into a story, the Salty Siren gets my vote.
Ash Renee rating: 9/10.
