If you’re looking for no frills, authentic tacos, I’d highly recommend checking out Taco Mix in Spanish Harlem on 116th Street. What started as just a small taco cart on 135th Street and Broadway, is now a brick and motor taco shop, serving up an extensive menu. While all the tacos are delicious, if you eat pork, then you must try the “Al Pastor Taco”, which is pork slowly marinated in ten spices then placed on a trompo in layers for a continuous roasted taste and a dash of pineapple. (delicious).
Since Taco Mix is only a one table restaurant, this is the perfect spot for take out and/or a late-night taco fix.
