Where: Various Locations

Why: I’ve recently fallen back in love with Pret A Manger. Founded in London in 1984, Pret is a grab and go breakfast/lunch spot with various locations throughout NYC. The menu includes sandwiches, baguettes, pots, cold/hot drinks,  sushi, salads, soups, and baked goods.

Pret A Manger is well-known for using natural and fresh ingredients. All sandwiches are made the day of and any food that is left at the end of the day is given to local charities. (I wish more restaurants did this). Pret is a great lunch option if you have a very limited lunch break (30 minutes or less) but you still want fresh, quality food.

My recent eats from Pret include:

Breakfast: Five Grain Oatmeal (chia seeds, flax seeds, amaranth, quinoa and steel-cut oats)

Lunch: Maine Lobster Salad (Maine lobster, fresh avocado, tomatoes, diced celery, onion and yellow bell peppers over a bed of romaine and mesclun)

Chicken and Bacon Sandwich (Char-grilled chicken (antibiotic free) topped with slices of crispy bacon (antibiotic free), sliced tomatoes and mesclun on a 9-grain granary bread)
