Potbelly Sandwich Shop (Midtown West)

potbelly sandwichI’m very surprised at the number of people in NYC that haven’t tried a Potbelly’s sandwich and is still torturing their stomachs with those other sandwich places. ..Nevertheless, while I don’t normally go blogging about a sandwich place or delis for that matter, as a Native Chicagoan, Potbelly (which originated in Chicago) deserves my shout out. I noticed this Chicago chain popping up all over NYC a couple of years ago, and of course, I deemed it fate when I noticed one right across the street from my office. Potbelly Sandwich Shop is fresh, fast, tasty, offers generous portions at affordable price (a huge upgrade from Subway! )

Potbelly’s menu features a variety of sandwiches that are all served hot on regular or multigrain wheat bread. All sandwiches can be ordered “thin-cut” style, in which one third of the bread is cut out. The menu besides sandwiches includes soup, shakes, malts, smoothies, and cookies (Which the Oatmeal Chocolate Chip is to die for!!) My favorite sandwich is the “Wreck” (salami, roast beef, turkey, ham and Swiss cheese). Toppings are normal but I recommend the hot peppers, which add a spicy zest to every sandwich. I believe that some of the locations feature live music from local musicians from time to time! Take that Subway!

So hey if you are in the mood for a $6 lunch that is delicious, I say give my Chicago Favorite a try
