Popping Bottles: Rex Goliath’s Pinot Noir

Overall: Pinot Noir by Rex Goliath is a delicious wine for under $10. I actually buy it for about $6 at my local wine shop.

From the Winemaker: “When it came time to satisfy the thirst of Rex Goliath Pinot Noir aficionados, our vineyards gifted us with a treasure of Pinot Noir fruit, which we blended to create a masterpiece.” Read more here.

My Tasting Notes: I’ve grown to like this big, velvety wine. Yes, it’s cheap, but it’s still pretty tasty. It also has that velvety texture that I have come to love in wines such as The Velvet Devil. During your first sip, you will taste red fruits and cherries. It has hint of spice and is somewhat acidic. Overall, I find that it taste better chilled. I would recommend this wine for those who are new to wine and/or are on a budget.

Recommended Food Pairing: Seriously, this is an everyday wine and it goes with everything from Pizza to Steak.

The Buppie Foodie Rating: (3 out of 5) (Not the Best Pinot Noir I’ve tasted but definitely gets the job done on a budget.
