NYC Korean Eats: Bann (Hell’s Kitchen)

Bann is a sophisticated Korean restaurant developed by Mrs. Young Sook Choi. The restaurants serves a solid selection of Korean appetizers, stews and noodles, along with the main attraction, Korean BBQ. I discovered Bann via a “date night” with an ex boyfriend a couple of years ago.  Strangely, even though I really enjoyed my first visit to Bann, I never actually found a reason to go back. That was until I ran across a Groupon ($20 for $40 deal) for Bann a few weeks ago and decided to revisit. I’m happy to report that I thoroughly enjoyed my long overdue second visit to Bann.

While the appetizer selection is by far my section on the menu, If Korean BBQ is your thing then Bann has plenty of options for you.

Bann also has a good happy hour selection, which runs every day from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. in the bar area/lounge and includes $6 martini, soju cocktails, and sake, plus $5 beer and wine.

Overall, Bann is a delicious Korean BBQ restaurant, outside of Koreatown. If you’re ever in the area, I recommend paying them a visit.

Must try: The Beef Buns (thinly sliced beef rib eye and spicy daikon on steamed buns) or the Baby Pork Ribs (slow roasted with a sweet and spicy soy chili barbecue glaze):
