Not to be cliché but yes, I started the New Year like so many others with new goals and resolutions. In fact, in my attempt to be one-step ahead of the game, I started some of my resolutions before the New Year to give myself a better chance of succeeding with my goals by building momentum. One of these goals (like so many others) was losing weight and leading an overall healthy non-grain, semi-paleo diet. My endocrinologist did a metabolism test on me about a year ago and I discovered that 90% of losing weight must come from your daily calorie intake. Do not get me wrong, exercise is very important but unless you are eating right, you are really slowing down your progress and hindering your goals. I used to use the Livestrong App to track my daily nutrition intake. However, I discovered that the Lose It App is much better. There’s both an iOS and Android version, and you can sign up for a web account to sync your tracking between your phone and the web. You can even share your progress and information with your friends. Cool features of the App includes, a wide array of foods and restaurant items, the ability to scan the bar codes of prepackaged foods to enter nutritional information, and lastly the ability to actually count sex as an exercise! So if you are looking for something new to aid you in your weight loss goals for 2014, I would definitely try this App.
Happy New Year!
