For my 30th Birthday, I ordered a red velvet cake from Lord’s bakery. Although some people have some very harsh reviews for this veteran bakery, my most recent experience, begs to differ.
This year for my birthday, instead of ordering at Martha’s Country Bakery in Astoria, I ordered from Lord’s bakery. Although I had no objection to ordering from Martha’s, it was simply a logistical choice to ensure that my cake arrived on time for my birthday party. Overall, I was very pleased with my cake. It was fresh, moist and beautifully decorated. As far as comparing my Martha’s Cake to my Lord’s red velvet cake, I’m going to say that it’s a tie. The noticeable difference between the two cakes is that texture of the cake from Lord’s was bit denser than my Martha’s. (not overly dense) This simply boils down to preference because taste-wise both cakes were simply delicious.
Shout out to Lord’s for ensuring that my Birthday Cake was a hit!
