I first visited Mesita in Rockville Centre on Cinco de May, 2016 for some Margaritas and Guacamole. Since of course the restaurant was packed, (just like every other Mexican restaurant in the area), I did not get a chance to eat. However, after seeing the table-side guacamole, while sipping on their delicious margaritas, I was determined to go back and eat!
Mesita is a modern Mexican restaurant in Long Island. Created by chef Victor Chicas, the menu features table-side guacamole, Mexican street corn, fajitas, burritos, tortas, tacos and so much more. The traditional Mexican menu coupled with the playful and rustic decor, makes for a fun dining experience in Rockville Centre.
On my fist bite at the restaurant, I found the food to be well-seasoned, flavorful and fresh. I especially enjoyed the fun twist on the Nachos, which features an Egg over easy. The Fish Tacos were also pretty good and worth ordering. Based on this experience, I’ll definitely return in the near future.
