I stopped by Felice 64 Restaurant as an end of the week treat to myself, and I am very glad I did. Inspired by the sophisticated streets of Florence and the rustic warmth of the Tuscan Countryside, this cozy Italian restaurant and wine bar has a lively vibe, a great menu and a fantastic wine list.
[complimentary bread & Olive Oil]
[Melanzane]
I ordered the “Melanzane”, which is a combination of baked layers of thinly sliced eggplant, Parmigiano Reggiano and tomato basil sauce. This was absolutely fantastic and filling. The cheese was evenly melted, the eggplant was tender, and the tomato basil sauce was flavorful but not overbearing.
[Tagliatelle alla Bolognese]
After my delicious starter and all the fresh bread and olive oil, I actually didn’t have much room left for an entrée. However, being the true “fat girl” that I am, I still ordered the “Tagliatelle alla Bolognese”. The Bolognese is made with Felice 64’s traditional Veal Ragù, which was absolutely delicious. The Bolognese tasted even better the next morning when I was scarfing down my leftovers for breakfast.
Overall, Felice 64 is a great gem on the Upper East Side and definitely worth a try!
