A couple of weeks ago, I was invited to Fedora, to celebrate “100 years of Kaukauna cheese”, the number one spreadable cheese brand in America! In case you didn’t know, Kaukauna is a city in Wisconsin, (not far from my Chicago/Midwest roots).

With a nod to its Wisconsin heritage and a step towards the future, Kaukauna celebrated their 100 year milestone by expanding its product line and introducing new “no artificial anything” cheese balls. The new 10-ounce balls will first be available in the two most popular flavors, Sharp Cheddar and Port Wine. Other no-artificial-anything flavor varieties will be rolled out in 2019.(How exciting)

Matt Barlow, a brand manager for Spreadable Cheese at Bel Brands said that “We are excited to celebrate Kaukauna’s 100th birthday with new products that are just as delicious as always but have a shorter ingredient list….As we head into our second century, a new generation is discovering Kaukauna and they’re loving not just the nostalgia of it, but the authenticity, the flavor and the versatility of spreadable cheese as well.”

After the official presentation at the event, I was able to sample some delicious bites from Fedora, before I sadly had to leave. Here’s what I tried:

East Coast Oyster

Deviled Eggs  & Endive Wedge Salad

Tuna Tartare Crostini

Overall, it was a wonderful event and I am excited that I had the opportunity to learn more about Kaukauna cheese. Admittedly, I’m  a little ashamed that I didn’t know much about the company before the event.

Nevertheless, I believe the new “no artificial anything” cheese balls will be a big hit, considering that many people, especially millennials, are becoming more health conscious. Having sampled the product after the event, the cheese balls are delicious and definitely worth purchasing for entertaining during the holidays.
