My Chili Burger and I are famous ya’ll!!!

This week my famous Chili Burger Recipe was featured in Rachel Ray’s Burger Bash Competition, which was taped on My 30th birthday! (aired on 2/23/16). Check out more recipes and more features from the show here.

Me and two other viewers had the wonderful opportunity to compete in the Burger Bash for a chance to win a trip to the South Beach Wine & Food Festival. ‘The Chew’s’ Carla Hall judge the competition.

While all the Burgers were amazing, I still think my second place Chili Burger was absolutely the best (yes I’m bias) and practically speaking, it’s a delicious burger that even novice cooks can make. The combination of flavors from the ground cumin, chili powder, as well as the combination of proteins (sweet & spicy Italian Sausage, ground beef and black beans) really makes this burger unique, flavorful and perfect for those who enjoy a little “sweet heat” in their burgers.  Notably, the patty is the star. There’s no fancy toppings in this recipes, it’s just a really good burger, served with a deliciously toasted Ciabatta bun, topped with some delicious Pepper jack cheese.
