Last week, I popped into Glady’s, a Caribbean restaurant in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn. Glady’s has been on my brunch radar for quite some time, so I was excited that I finally got a chance to stop by and have a bite.
This cute “Caribbean meets Brooklyn” restaurant did not disappoint. The brunch menu is not extensive but it includes the basic Jamaican Brunch options (i.e. Ackee & Saltfish, Jerk Chicken, Breakfast Roti, Plantain, etc.). I ordered the Ackee & Saltfish with a side of Jerk Fried Chicken Wings.
Everything was delicious and authentic. The Ackee & Saltfish was flavorful and was an ample portion. The Jerk Fried Chicken Wings were fantastic and had a delicious smokey flavor, probably due to the fact that they were grilled on the open wood burning grill.
Overall, my first bite @ Glady’s was a hit. For under $20, (without alcohol) this was not only a delicious brunch but also a very affordable one. I can’t wait to go back and experience their dinner menu.
