On our quest to get some soup and/or Ramen, my dining crew decided to stop into Mis Korea BBQ in Koreatown the other day, to do just that. Upon entering the restaurant, the hostess sent us to the third floor, which was modern, spacious and clean. The large, open windows overlooking Koreatown, made for a great very chic ambiance.
Once we ordered our food, (none of us ordered Korean BBQ), our server delivered the Banchan, which are small plates that start a Korean meal. Our verdict on the Banchan ranged from delicious to just OK…. I think it really depends on your palate and your stomach for fishy tasty things. Overall, I though the dishes were decent. The standouts were definitely the fish and the Bok Choy salad, which was dressed in a delicious sweet and spicy sauce.
We were all pretty happy with all of our entrees. We thought everything was well-seasoned and flavorful.
Here’s a snapshot of what we ordered.
~Spicy kimchi stew with ham & sausage~
~Beef short ribs soup with glass noodles (ordered spicy)~
~Dumpling soup with rice cakes, sliced beef and scallions~
Overall, we thought the food at Miss Korea BBQ was tasty. We promised each other that we’d come back and actually try some Korean BBQ or a Hot pot.
